You can operate it stand alone or operate it with simple sound interface cards. However because it was created many many years ago before\u00a0the turn of the century, it does have a time lock which evokes a limit based on a date. After that date the software does not operate properly. Running this version on Windows 10 is difficult unless you follow this guide.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><b>A few items to know. <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Time Lock prevents the software to operate normally.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">If you operate this software on Windows 10 you must disable UAC<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">If you operate this software on Windows 10 you must run in Windows XP SP2 Compatible mode.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Always run in Admin mode. The above configurations will ensure the software runs properly as it did years ago when it was invented.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #800000;\"><strong>Installation Instructions to run in Windows 10<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Unzip your package and double click the file <strong>PCDJred53.exe<\/strong> and complete the installation.<\/li>\n<li>Go to the desktop shortcut and right click then choose <strong>Properties<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Then click the <strong>Compatibility<\/strong> tab. In the <strong>Compatibility mode<\/strong> section click the box next to <strong>Run this program in compatibility mode for<\/strong>. Then click the drop down menu and choose <strong>Windows XP (Service Pack 2)<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>On the same screen click the box next to <strong>Run this program as an administrator<\/strong>. Then click <strong>OK<\/strong> to save the settings.<\/li>\n<li>Start the PCDJ program by clicking the shortcut you just configured. When the program opens for the first time it will ask you to enter the <strong>registration ID<\/strong> number. When that is finished, it will ask you to scan your computer for music files. Choose <strong>no<\/strong> then close the program.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The next step is to set up the program that turns back the clock so the time lock is ineffective.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\u00a0Download <strong>Cracklock <\/strong>from here <strong>https:\/\/download.cnet.com\/Cracklock\/3000-2094_4-10798254.html\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Install <strong>Cracklock<\/strong> and run it. The <strong>Cracklock<\/strong> manager will open. On the screen click <strong>Add Program<\/strong>, then add the program application, <strong>C:Program Files (x86)\\Visiosonic\\PCDJ Red\\pcdjred.exe\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Once added , right click the PCDJ Red icon in the <strong>Cracklock Manager<\/strong> and click <strong>Configure<\/strong>. When the C<strong>alendar<\/strong> opens choose the year 2000. Everything remains the same. Go to the <strong>Injection mode<\/strong> tab, and click the link that says <strong>Click here to create a shortcut on the desktop<\/strong>. Then click <strong>Ok<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">At this point the program is ready to run. Next you have to disable the UAC on Windows 10. Otherwise drag and drop wont work.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Disable UAC in windows registry<\/strong><br \/>\nIt is possible to turn off UAC using the Registry Editor.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Open Windows Registry : Start &gt; run&gt; type\u00a0<strong>regedit<\/strong>\n<ol>\n<li>Navigate to the following key: <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\">HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Policies\\System<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li>If you do not have such a Registry key, then just create it.<\/li>\n<li>In the right pane, modify the value of the\u00a0<strong>EnableLUA<\/strong>\u00a0DWORD value to\u00a0<strong>0<\/strong>:<\/li>\n<li>If you do not have this DWORD value, then create it.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Restart your computer.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Once the computer restarts go ahead and start PCDJ.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PCDJ Red 5.3 is a very old DJ software that works on a PC that does not require any other software.
